How culture can breed intra and entrepreneurship by encouraging hustle.

It seems like everyone’s got one these days. A side gig as an Uber driver. A project at work, breaking boundaries and disrupting industries. Whatever you are pursuing, when it’s with a team and shared goals, the most rewarding outcome is what we are all seeking.

On the morning of Wednesday, September 27, I will have the honor of sharing the stage with global leaders Gretchen Rubin (The Happiness Project) and Chris Guillebeau (The $100 Startup) talking about how businesses and cities can help breed intra and entrepreneurship in their teams by encouraging our hustle. This topic is near and dear to my heart for obvious reasons including our own hustle to rebrand our company, and my personal journey as a female entrepreneur – but it is particularly close to home for us because of some other lesser known factors….

“High stakes, I got more at stake than Philly.” – Jay Z

Philadelphia knows hustle. We have to learn how to get around one of the country’s most vast public transportation system and how to order correctly at Pat’s Cheesesteaks. Some would say we even got the most grit here.

Cohere knows hustle. It’s a little internal secret of ours that we call ourselves the “dream factory.” Our team is filled with intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs that are kicking some serious side-hustle-butt out here.

Take Risa Zeller, our Director of Operations who is opening her own cidery Hale & True. Or Chris Richards, our Director Business Development who is running his own office in Baltimore – and now one of our employees went to go do the same in Denver! Whether it’s a side-hustle or acting like you own part of the biz yourself — our culture encourages the courage it takes to share goals with your team and plow through obstacles to achieve the impossible. How do you create your own “dream factory” at work or as a freelancer?

On the 27th, we’ll be sharing actionable insights for activating your inner intra and entrepreneur, and how to build this kind of mindset into your workplace culture. This event is geared towards employers and managers, AND almost more importantly – for your team. Promoting a hustle culture from within is more powerful than a top-down mandate. Let’s break down those walls together! Get your tickets here.
