Apartment Branding for Real Estate Developers
A Full-Service Apartment Branding Agency
Cohere designs cohesive brands for real estate developers. Most come to us with a similar goal: to help position and add value to their real estate investment. In the multifamily world, apartment branding is often overshadowed by the challenges of development itself – construction costs, supply chain delays, engineering challenges, and community input. Over the years, developers have turned to us for set of services adapted to the project at hand, including:
- Apartment strategy and positioning in the marketplace
- Apartment naming, messaging, and narrative
- Apartment branding including logos, iconography and illustration
- Environmental signage, wayfinding, and graphics
- Pre-leasing lead generation, creative promotions, and advertising
- Leasing collateral, floor plans, brochures, and print pieces
- Lifestyle photography and content
As an agency, Cohere understands development pro-formas and the appropriate budget allocated based on unit economics. We pride ourselves on being able to create world-class brands for boutique apartments and national real estate developers alike.

HOHM Highlandtown is a multifamily and co-living development located in one of Baltimore’s most diverse and exciting neighborhoods. Engaged to strategize, name, and create a brand identity for the development in tandem with PI.KL Studio’s architecture and design, Cohere created a concept that could tell the story of a modern apartment brand embedded in the principles of art, food, fun, and modern urbanism.
Cohere created a brand identity, environmental signage, wayfinding, social media graphics, and pre-leasing construction signage to help bring the property to life. Design for this apartment branding was initiated approximately a year ahead of delivery, and supported everything from property management and leasing efforts to the interior common areas and neighborhood focus.

Award-Winning Apartment Branding
Cohere not only sets out to exceed your development and lease-up goals, but always aims to bring best in class design principles and award-winning design to the table. Apartment branding done right can lead to not only local recognition and retention, but national interest as properties are brought to life with smart positioning, messaging, and brand identities.

Apartment Branding Comes to Life In Print
Thinking outside the box, apartment branding can inspire more than leases. Cohere always looks for the opportunity to build something truly creative. In the case of the legendary Hotel Du Pont, which opened its doors for the first time to residents through 101 dupont place apartments, we knew we needed to create a special piece to tell its story. The result was an award-winning print newspiece that highlights the historic charm of these repurposed apartments

Apartment Branding for Adaptive Re-use Projects
We love an adaptive re-use project. Not only is re-use of existing historic buildings one of the most sustainable methods of redevelopment, but often times it means there’s a treasure trove of stories to tell. From apartment naming, to identity design, to marketing collateral – a historic building offers such a depth of potential for smart branding. Cohere has the privilege of working with developers that understand the value of saving the beautiful and functional bones of our cities’ historic buildings.

Historic Apartment Branding
In tandem with a boutique-hotel-like approach to interiors by Rohe Creative, the brand for Harbisons Dairy took cues from the property’s industrial past. Our project began with a tour of the dairy plant prior to any demolition– just the raw space. Areas ranged from dilapidated refrigeration that felt the likes of a steampunk club out of Berlin to a 1900’s elevated farmhouse. We discovered old dairy tags and receipts of the early to mid-1950s. These relics played a part in the eventual branding and storytelling celebrating its past.

Each creative project requires a unique approach to storytelling, and our agency adapts to the project at hand by providing brand strategy, brand identity, naming, digital and web design, content creation, and digital advertising services to ensure each project is a success for both our clients and the communities we serve.

New Construction Apartment Branding
The Birch is a symbolic development in the rebirth of Conshohocken, the first construction project of its kind in many decades. The Birch at 51 Washington is a canvas for new beginnings in residential living in this typically-corporate enclave outside of Center City Philadelphia. During a time when flexibility, convenience, and access are increasingly important, the apartments offer a renewed and refreshed approach to the modern renter’s needs: spacious common areas, unparalleled connectivity to both the suburbs and city, and direct access to the area’s river trail and expansive outdoors.
Cohere engaged in branding the new apartment development during the pre-construction phase, and collaborated with the property management and interior design teams for this 304-unit project.
Ready to Build?
Cohere brings value to the process of apartment development by engaging early, crafting an appropriate scope, and building a consistent set of materials to empower developers, property managers, and investors with a clear vision for a building’s story.
